How you'll make an impact in this role

Ascension Seton is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Rheumatologist for our Dell Childrens Medical Center team!

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Seton to provide medical services to patients. New fellowship graduates and experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.

Position Highlights:

  • Dell Children's Medical Group Rheumatology has three attending physicians and one PA (looking to add a fourth attending). Our goal is to have four Pediatric Certified Rheumatologists in clinics covering Central Texas from Buda to Cedar Park.

  • Ultrasound in the outpatient clinic for joint injections and two locations with dedicated Rheumatology infusion suites.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinates discharge planning with case management.
  • Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
  • Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
  • Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
  • Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
  • Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

  • Dell Children's Medical Center (DCMC) is a299-bedfreestanding pediatric facilitywith Pediatric Level I Trauma Center, Level IV Epilepsy Center, Level IV NICU, Special Delivery Unit, Texas Center for Pediatric Congenital Heart Disease, and Inpatient Psychiatry Mental Health Unit.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Licensed Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
