The Lexington, KY VA Healthcare System (LVAHCS) seeks a highly motivated physician to join our Geriatric Extended Care service.

  1. Serve as the Attending Physician for our 40-bed Hospice Care Inpatient Living Center, providing direct patient care while collaborating with Nursing, Social Work, and Physician Rehab services as needed.
  2. Provides a continuum of palliative care services across various settings to include but not limited to: Acute care, Inpatient Living Center, Outpatient consultative clinics, Home-Based Primary Care, Emergency Department, Geri Palliative clinic, as well as the Infusion room.
  3. Must be BE/BC Family or Internal Medicine. Highly qualified candidates will be BC Geriatrics or Palliative Medicine and have 2+ years of experience, including background in dementia care.
  4. Enjoy an excellent work-life balance with a set Monday-Friday schedule (7:30am-4pm), no weekends, and no on-call time.

Unrestricted licensure in any State is required.

Position is eligible for Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).

Compensation Details

$250K–$275K

Pay: Current salary range $250-280K depending on experience and qualifications. Annual performance bonus. Regular salary increases. Paid Time Off 50-55 days of annual paid time offer per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year, and possible 5-day paid absence for CME). Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided.
