Dermatopathologist Opportunity Alabama
Join our established dermatology practice with five locations in the metro area. Our growing dermatology group is seeking a Board-Certified / Board-Eligible Dermatopathologist to support our expanding dermatopathology services and high biopsy volume.
Practice Setting
- Established dermatology group with five clinic locations and a strong referral base
- Collaborative team environment including dermatologists, physician assistants, and experienced clinical staff
- High volume dermatology practice generating a consistent dermatopathology case load
- Opportunity to help expand and shape the dermatopathology service within the organization
- Modern systems and workflow designed to support efficient specimen processing and reporting
Responsibilities
- Interpret dermatologic biopsy and excision specimens using histopathologic and ancillary diagnostic techniques
- Provide accurate and timely dermatopathology reports for skin biopsy specimens
- Collaborate with dermatologists and clinical providers for clinicopathologic correlation when needed
- Maintain high standards of laboratory quality, compliance, and documentation
- Participate in quality assurance activities and contribute to best practices in dermatopathology
- Opportunity for clinical dermatology practice if desired
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Dermatology or Pathology with Dermatopathology fellowship training
- Fellowship training in Dermatopathology required
- Strong diagnostic skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Eligible for medical licensure in Alabama
Schedule
- Flexible scheduling options depending on candidate preference

- No call responsibilities
- Support staff and systems in place to optimize workflow and efficiency
Compensation & Benefits
- Up to $500,000 income potential depending on experience and productivity (expect 15-25,000 case parts annually)
- $20,000 sign-on bonus
- Up to $10,000 relocation assistance

Cosmetics Fellowship Opportunity
We do not currently have a physician with our practice with a dedicated interest in cosmetics. Our current fellowship-trained physicians have extensive cosmetics training and are willing to train our new dermatopathologist if they have an interest in developing a clinical cosmetics practice long-term.
