Job Summary: Centra Health is seeking board-certified or board-eligible Emergency Medicine Physicians to join its network of four emergency departments in central Virginia: Lynchburg General Hospital, Bedford Memorial Hospital, Gretna Medical Center, and Southside Community Hospital. This is a collegial, employed group with equitable standing from day one and a well-supported orientation period.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality emergency care to patients with a wide range of acute medical needs
• Evaluate, stabilize, diagnose, and treat patients in a fast-paced emergency department setting
• Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, and hospital teams to coordinate patient care
• Document care accurately and efficiently in the medical record
• Support a team-based culture focused on patient safety and strong clinical outcomes

Qualifications:

• MD or DO degree
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine
• Comfortable working across a multi-site emergency medicine network
• Strong communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills
• Completion of emergency medicine residency/fellowship training

Work Schedule & Environment:

• Mix of 10-hour and 12-hour shifts depending on site
• 10-hour shifts at Lynchburg General Hospital and Southside Community Hospital
• 12-hour shifts at Bedford Memorial Hospital and Gretna Medical Center
• Nocturnist program available
• Option for days/evenings only (no night shifts required)
• No scheduled call responsibilities
• Guaranteed requests off up to 10 days per month
• Alternating holiday coverage
