Norton Children’s Heart Institute in Louisville, Kentucky, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Cardiologist to join a high-performing, full-service congenital heart program. This physician will diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric cardiology conditions across outpatient and inpatient settings, including regional clinics, cardiac intensive care, and progressive care units.
This is an academic appointment at the assistant or associate professor level with the University of Louisville School of Medicine, offering opportunities in clinical care, teaching, and research.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, treat, and manage pediatric cardiology conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings
- Provide care across multiple environments, including outpatient clinics, cardiac ICU, and step-down cardiac units
- Perform and interpret diagnostic testing, including echocardiography
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary cardiac team to deliver comprehensive congenital heart care
- Participate in advanced cardiac programs, including heart transplant, ventricular assist devices, catheterization, and electrophysiology procedures
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and adherence to national quality metrics (ACC QNet)
- Participate in academic activities, including teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows
- Engage in clinical research and registries through Norton Children’s Research Institute
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited institution
- Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology
- Eligible for medical licensure in Kentucky
- Preferred: 1–3 years of clinical experience with demonstrated excellence in outpatient pediatric cardiology
- Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills

- Participation in national collaboratives including STS, CHSS, PC4, and NPC-QIC
Work Environment & Schedule
