Job Summary
Norton Children’s Hospital and the University of Louisville are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Pediatric and Adult Congenital Electrophysiologist to join the Division of Pediatric Cardiology and Norton Children’s Heart Institute in Louisville, Kentucky. This role involves a balanced mix of inpatient and outpatient electrophysiology care within a growing, high-acuity program. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team-based environment and contribute to clinical care, education, and research.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive electrophysiology care across inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth setting
- Perform and interpret ECGs, ambulatory monitors, and cardiac device interrogations
- Conduct electrophysiology studies including intracardiac, transesophageal, and intraoperative procedures
- Perform catheter ablations using radiofrequency, cryothermy, and pulsed field technologies
- Implant and manage cardiac devices, including transvenous, subcutaneous, and leadless pacemakers and defibrillators
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including pediatric electrophysiologists, APRNs, and nursing staff
- Participate in genetic counseling related to electrophysiologic conditions
- Contribute to teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows
- Engage in institutional and multicenter clinical research initiatives
- Support program growth and quality improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Board Certified in Pediatric Cardiology (American Board of Pediatrics)
- Fellowship training in Pediatric and Adult Congenital Electrophysiology
- Eligible for or holding an active Kentucky medical license
- Strong clinical skills with a commitment to patient-centered care
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Interest in medical education and clinical research preferred

- Only free-standing children’s hospital in Kentucky with 300 beds
- 2 state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization labs, including a hybrid suite
- 17-bed Cardiac ICU and 12-bed stepdown unit
- Hospital-wide telemetry with remote monitoring capabilities
- Advanced EP lab with biplane cine-angiography and Carto-3 3D mapping system
- Growing program performing ~130 electrophysiology cases annually

The Division of Pediatric Cardiology includes 24 pediatric cardiologists and 18 advanced practice providers across highly collaborative subspecialties, including:
- Adult congenital heart disease
- Advanced heart failure & transplant
- Cardiac catheterization
- Electrophysiology
- Fetal cardiology
The program is nationally recognized and ranked among the top cardiac programs by U.S. News & World Report (2024–2025).
