The Ward Family Heart Center at Children's Mercy Kansas City is seeking a full time Acute Care Cardiologist to join our team. The successful candidate would join an existing group of 43 cardiologists (38 in Kansas City, 2 in Springfield, MO, 2 in Wichita, KS, 1 in Topeka, KS), 4 CV surgeons, and over 40 APNs.
About the Heart Center:
- Serves a population of over 5 million in the Midwest
- Performs over 500 cardiac operations, 600 cardiac catheterizations including over 200 invasive EP procedures, 18,000 outpatient visits, and more than 20,000 echocardiograms annually
- Two state-of the art hybrid catheterization labs equipped with the latest 3D imaging and EP technology
- Telehealth available to provide outreach for patient care and education
- Kansas City-based super-specialty resources include Electrophysiology, Cardiac Transplantation/Heart Failure, Interventional Cardiology and Advanced Cardiac Imaging (fetal echo, 3D echo, trans-esophageal echo, CT, MRI and 3D printing)
Responsibilities:
- Clinical care within the core inpatient Acute Care Cardiac team
- Participating in multidisciplinary rounds
- Provide care for infants and children with congenital, acquired, or complex cardiovascular conditions requiring intermediate level care
- Coordinate care with sub-specialty teams, cardiology dedicated APRNs, medical students, cardiology nursing, nutrition, PT/OT, pharmacy, social work, care management, and more
- Additional duties may be included based on the candidate’s skill set and the section’s needs
Minimum Qualifications:
- MD or DO, Trainees in their final year of fellowship are welcome to apply
- Board Certification in Pediatrics
- Board Eligible or Certified in Pediatric Cardiology
- Experience and interest in Pediatric Cardiology
