Job Summary:
Norton Children’s Radiology, affiliated with the University of Louisville (UofL) School of Medicine and part of Norton Children’s Medical Group, is seeking fellowship-trained Pediatric Neuroradiologists to join a growing, collaborative team across multiple subspecialties. This opportunity offers flexibility with two distinct career tracks— all clinical or combined clinical and academic—within a nationally recognized pediatric healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in a state-of-the-art environment alongside highly specialized pediatric neuroradiologists, pediatric neurologists and neurosurgery physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and technologists, delivering high-quality neuroimaging care to a diverse pediatric population.
- Capability to use advanced neuroscience technology such as FreeSurfer and MRtrix3 brain imaging software to extract and aggregate data on epilepsy patients
- Sophisticated software package that allows for the coregistration of eight layers of radiographic data
- Swoop Portable MR Imaging System to help assess conditions such as ischemia/infarction, midline shift, ventriculomegaly and bleeding
- Partner with an engineering lab experienced in radiographic AI analysis and handling large amounts of data
- Opportunities to attend epilepsy conference, head conference, trauma PI conference and neuro tumor board
Work Environment:
- Norton Children’s Neuroscience Institute is comprised of 22 physicians, 16 advanced practice providers, psychologists, licensed clinical social works, and genetic counselors.
- The institute is also home to the Norton Children’s Hospital Comprehensive Epilepsy Center a Level 4 epilepsy center.
- Neuro specialists use state-of-the-art technology including:
- Visualase: Technology that allows neurosurgeons to perform MRI-guided laser ablation surgery.
- Surgical Theater: Virtual reality technology that creates an immersive 3D view of a patient’s brain, allowing neurosurgeons, the patient and family to see inside the skull and brain.
- Dedicated multidisciplinary clinics for brain tumors, traumatic brain injuries, spina bifida, craniofacial injuries and disorders, epilepsy, muscular dystrophy, spasticity, headache/migraine, autism and neurocutaneous disorders.
- The institute includes a neurogenetics clinic, neuropsychology program, and was the region’s first clinic to treat children with immune-mediated neurological disorders.
Equipment includes:
- Two MRI units, including a 3 Tesla (3T) MRI
- Two 256-slice CT scanners
- SPECT scanner
- Biplane interventional suite
- Fluoroscopy and digital X-ray technology (low radiation)
- Ultrasound elastography
- FerriScan for liver and cardiac iron quantification
- Advanced cardiac CT and MRI for congenital heart disease evaluation
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary: $521,000 – $565,000 (based on experience) + productivity bonus
- Sign-on bonus: $45,000
- Relocation assistance: $15,000–$25,000
- Fellowship recruitment incentive: up to $100,000
- Retention bonus (experienced candidates): up to $60,000
- Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) (501(c)(3) organization)
- 45 days PTO + 7 paid holidays (prorated by FTE)
