UT Health East Texas is hiring a bc/be Cardiothoracic Surgeon with interest and ability to perform both cardiac and thoracic to join our clinical faculty and regional Level 1 Trauma Center in beautiful Tyler, TX. Experienced and graduating Cardiothoracic Surgeons skilled in both cardiac and thoracic, plus interests in clinical faculty practice, are encouraged to apply!

 

About this Cardiothoracic Surgeon Job Opening:

  • Full-Time Employment (1.0 FTE)
  • Academic, Inpatient/Outpatient
  • Expected Open Heart Cases: 268 per year
  • Join a team of 2 Cardiothoracic Surgeons, 2-3 Nurse Practitioners, and support staff
  • 1st Assist for vein harvesting available
  • Level 1 Trauma Center serving the Northeastern Texas region
  • On-Site Heart Valve Center (MitraClip, TAVR, valve replacement) with 9 cardiologists
  • Referrals coming from cath lab and valve center
  • Mon-Fri 8am-5pm: 1 Clinic Day, 2.5-3 Surgical Days, 4 hours admin time; no weekends
  • Telephone-Only Call Schedule, 1:3
  • EMR: Epic

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • ABS board certification or eligibility as Cardiothoracic Surgeon
  • Surgical Fellowship Training in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Interest and ability in both cardiac and thoracic
  • Experienced and graduating Cardiothoracic Surgery Physicians are encouraged to apply!
