Advanced Practice Provider - Gender Affirmation Surgery - Chicago, IL

Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Gender Affirmation Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP). This role will provide outpatient support to our Gender Affirmation surgeons in the outpatient clinic five days/week.

Department/division specs:

• Join a team of three Gender Affirmation Surgeons and one fellow Gender Surgery APP

Preferred Qualifications:

• Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in surgical related specialty, including robotics, is preferred. Relevant RN experience may be considered.
• Laser training is preferred, not required.

Position Requirements:

Nurse Practitioner:

• Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process
• Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position
• Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP)
• CPR and ACLS certifications

Physician Assistant:

• Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process
• Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program
• Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
• CPR and ACLS certifications

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush Medical Group Customer Service standards. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.
