Locum – Physician Assistant (PA) – Surgery - General – Novi, MI

Shift Notes: Days: 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, typically 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. with some flexibility on start and end times; 40 hours per week. Weekend Requirements: NA On Call Requirements: No call required

Job Description:

• Coverage Dates: Immediate start through December 31, 2025 (option to remain credentialed PRN afterward
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts (approx. 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., flexible start/end times), 40 hours per week
• Call Requirements: None
• Location: Novi & Southfield (Level II Trauma Center)
• Practice Setting: Hospital-based OR with more than 20 operating rooms and 3 DaVinci robots

Responsibilities:

• Bedside first-assisting in robotic surgical cases (GYN, urology, general surgery, bariatrics)
• Placement of ports and closure of port sites
• Occasional assistance in non-robotic cases as needed
• Occasional discharges/depart documentation and outpatient prescriptions

Team & Environment:

• Surgeon and residents present in all cases (senior residents typically at console; may have junior residents' bedside)
• Support from scrub techs and circulating nurses
• More than 30 surgeons are credentialed on the robotic platform
• Travel: Local candidates preferred; hotel and mileage reimbursed if approved

Requirements:

• Board Certification: NCCPA – Required
• State License: Active Michigan license – Required (will not accept providers needing to obtain)
• Certifications: BLS & ACLS through AHA – Required
• Experience: Minimum 2–3 years with robotic bedside first-assist experience in GYN, urology, general surgery, and bariatrics – Required
• EMR Experience: Cerner – Preferred
