Position details include:

  • This position is full or part-time; 50%-100% FTE
  • This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.
  • This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
  • Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles: Assistant Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), Professor (CHS), Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor, Visiting Assistant Professor, Visiting Associate Professor, or Visiting Professor. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.

Clinical Care: Faculty provide pediatric emergency care primarily at American Family Children’s Hospital, one of only two dedicated children’s hospitals in Wisconsin and the region’s referral center for complex and high-acuity cases. Faculty care for patients from across the upper Midwest alongside a highly skilled and compassionate interprofessional team that includes physicians, advanced practice providers (APP), nurses, technicians, social workers, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, case managers, and care coordinators, and others.

Required Qualifications:

  • Unrestricted Wisconsin Medical Licensure by the start date.
  • Board eligibility or board certified through the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or American Board of Pediatrics by the start date.
  • Completion of an accredited Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship program by the start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CHS Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS Track.
  • For an appointment at Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor rank on CT Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CT Track.

Education:

MD or DO, or equivalent required.
