Emergency Medicine Physician – Level 2 About the Role Position Highlights Responsibilities Requirements

Employer: Cherokee Nation W. W. Hastings Hospital Location: Tahlequah, OK Start Date: 11/10/2025 End Date: 02/07/2026 Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day and Night mixture; 7a–7p, 8–8, 10–10, 11–11, 12–12; some nights 7p–7a)

We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician (or Family Medicine with ED experience) to join our high-volume emergency department. The ideal candidate is flexible with scheduling, comfortable seeing patients of all ages, and experienced in both acute and chronic care.

• Volume: 200+ patients per day between ED and Urgent Care
• Beds: 33 total (13 ER, 20 ER Overflow)
• Coverage: Double coverage at all times
• Patient Load: 16–22 patients per physician per shift, depending on acuity
• EHR: Cerner
• Provide comprehensive care to patients across all ages in a fast-paced ED setting.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions.
• Collaborate with in-house and on-call specialties including pediatrics, hospitalists, orthopedics, cardiology (STEMI), ENT, podiatry, nephrology, OB, and behavioral health.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Cerner EHR.
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based emergency care.
• Board Certified (preferred) or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine; Family Medicine with ED experience considered
• Active Oklahoma license (required)
• Minimum 2 years’ ED or Urgent Care experience
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA accredited)
• Flexible to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Comfortable managing typical ED acuity with 2.5–3 patients per hour
