Interested in serving our nations hero's? We are looking for highly a qualified Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Gastroenterology (GI) and Hepatology Section at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC.

Job Responsibilities

Job Duties

Patient Care: Provide health care to Veterans, including health and illness assessments, direct care, and preventive health.
Collaboration: Work closely with the GI/Hep Team, including GI Lab RNs, fellows, clinic staff, and gastroenterologists/hepatologists.
Consult Management: Screen and process GI consults for both VA and Non-VA care.
Pre-Procedure Assessments: Perform assessments for patients referred for colonoscopy.
Clinic Responsibilities: Manage patient care in the GI Clinic, including conducting physical exams, ordering and interpreting tests, and prescribing treatments (excluding certain controlled substances).
Leadership and Evaluation: Guide and support staff, collaborate with other clinicians, and evaluate programs/services using professional standards and scientific evidence.

Qualifications

1 year + experience within GI service direct patient care
Accredited program- PA- Clinical Practice
US Citizen

Working Hours

Full-time position
Typical hours: 0730 - 1600
Overtime, weekend, and holiday work may be required
