How you'll make an impact in this role

Ascension is looking for an APRN or PA, for a FT role, in our Pediatric Hematology/Oncology department for Dell Children's Medical Center. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension to provide medical services to pediatric hematology/oncology patients in the hospital. Our ideal candidate will have hematology/oncology experience and is comfortable working both independently as well as being part of a multidisciplinary team.

Position Schedule:

• Acute Care Certification - strongly preferred for NP's
• Occasional opportunity to pick up extra shifts

Responsibilities:

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
• Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
• Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.

Education:

• Master's degree of Nursing required.
