  • NORTON INFECTIOUS DISEASES SPECIALISTS, a part of Norton Infectious Diseases Institute, is seeking a physician fellowship trained in infectious diseases to join our growing downtown practice.  Norton Infectious Diseases Specialists provides inpatient consultations at three adult service hospitals in Louisville and outpatient consultations at two locations in Louisville.

     

    In addition to providing clinical care, the selected candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to advanced care solutions, including research, population health initiatives to reduce the spread of disease, and support resources for patients and their families.  Our specialists are part of multidisciplinary teams with active research initiatives for COVID-19, hepatitis C, HIV and other communicable diseases.  

     

    Our team leads the Norton Healthcare Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, working with providers throughout the Norton Healthcare system to improve the safe use of antibiotics.  The Global Antimicrobial Stewardship Accreditation Scheme has designated Norton Healthcare as the first and only Level 3 accreditation center of excellence in the United States.

     

    ABOUT THE POSITIONS

    • 7 on/7 off work schedule
    • Fellowship trained in infectious diseases preferred
    • Opportunity to practice infectious diseases exclusively

    • Provide rapid initiation or antiretroviral therapy to minimize the spread of HIV infection

    • Job Responsibilities: The physician is responsible for recording a detailed medical history of each patient in the electronic medical record, including, but not limited to, chief complaint, present condition, individual history, and family history.  Performing appropriate physical examination of each patient.  Analyzing reports and/or findings of tests and personal examinations in order to assess the medical condition of the patient, including diagnosing the patient's injury or illness and formulating a prognosis.
