Rochester Regional Health (RRH) seeks a visionary and collaborative physician leader to serve as Service Line Division Head of Neurosurgery—a pivotal leadership role within one of the most comprehensive and advanced neurosciences platforms in the region.
This is more than a leadership opportunity—it's an invitation to lead at scale, shape system-wide integration, and elevate neurosurgical care for patients across eight hospitals and more than 600 care sites. You'll help unify and expand one of the system's most high-impact divisions, supported by advanced technology, engaged teams, and a deep culture of collaboration.
About the Role
Reporting to the System Executive Medical Director, Neurosciences, the Division Head of Neurosurgery will provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership across the continuum of inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical care.
You will collaborate with affiliate department chairs, medical directors, and administrative leaders to drive integration, innovation, and accountability across a system poised for transformation. This role will also shape the broader
Neurosciences Service Line—which includes Neurology, Stroke, and PM&R—positioning Neurosurgery as a cornerstone of RRH's regional care strategy.
Neurosurgery at Rochester Regional Health
RRH's neurosurgery program spans multiple high-volume campuses and is supported by cutting-edge intraoperative and imaging technology, including Brainlab, O-arm, ROSA robotics, and LITT. The division performs more than 1,000 neurosurgical procedures annually, with expertise in cranial, spine, trauma, tumor, Chiari malformation, epilepsy, and neuro-oncology cases.
Program highlights include:
- Dedicated neurosurgical teams at Rochester General and Unity Hospitals
- Strategic partnerships with Lipson Cancer Institute for integrated neuro-oncology care
- Biplane neurointerventional suite at Rochester General Hospital
- Telestroke and teleneuro capabilities system-wide
- Ongoing investments in intraoperative MRI and neuroimmunology programs
You will inherit a program with strong momentum—where the opportunity lies in scaling excellence, expanding access, standardizing experience, and deepening programmatic reach across the region.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD, DO or MBBS; Board Certified in Neurosurgery or relevant subspecialty
- Eligible for unrestricted New York State medical license
- MBA or MHA preferred, though not required
