Overview

General Summary:

The PA or NP under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:

  • Performs physical examinations of patients; evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic urologic conditions also including Urogynecologic/urologic conditions within the clinic and hospital setting
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
  • Will manage new patients and follow up patient visit, Assisting and developing proper plan of care and diagnosis
  • Office procedures include but not limited to: Bladder instillations, foley management, endometrial biopsies, tibial nerve stimulation, post operative care
  • Surgical Assistance for Urogynecologic procedures including vaginal, laparoscopic and robotic female pelvic reconstructive procedures
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
  • Collaborates with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
  • Always displays a caring and professional attitude as well as maintaining personal and professional growth

Schedule:

  • Schedule Details: Monday – Friday
  • Practice call Rotation – 1 week every 12 weeks practice call
  • Practice Location - Clermont and Villages
  • Hospitals covered: AH Minneola

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong medical decision-making skills

Required Education and Experience:

  • Physician Assistant (PA-C) Studies or Nurse Practitioner (NP) studies
  • 1-3 years of experience as a PA-C or NP; Urogynecology or Urology (preferred)

Licensure, Certification, and Registration:

  • Current, valid Florida PA or NP
  • Certification by NCCPA, ANCC or other nationally recognized certification organization
  • BLS
  • RN-FA (if applicable)
