About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant to join a stable, well established surgical team in Janesville, Wisconsin. This is a highly specialized role designed for a PA who enjoys working in the operating room and prefers a schedule focused almost entirely on surgical first assist responsibilities rather than clinic or outpatient care.

This position was created to support growing surgical volume and address OR staffing needs. You will work closely with experienced OB/GYN and Urology physicians, assisting primarily with gynecologic, pelvic health, and urology surgeries, including open, laparoscopic, and robotic cases.

Job Description Summary

Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care of patients of all ages suffering from a wide variety of conditions in the acute care settings such as inpatient, emergency department and urgent care in collaboration with a physician or designee (these acute conditions may include serious injury and neurological, respiratory, cardiac, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, or psychiatric issues that require urgent medical or surgical intervention).

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program

Experience:

  • One year healthcare or clinical experience which includes clinical hours in a physician assistant training program

Required Professional License and/or Certifications:

State of Work Location: Wisconsin

  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA) And
  • Physician Assistant - Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services And
  • Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Preferred:

  • Eligible for or licensed to practice in the state of Wisconsin
  • Previous operating room experience strongly preferred
  • Laparoscopic experience is a plus
