Position Purpose

As an Obstetrician/Gynecologist, employee provides clinical services in all aspects of female related care, covering all age groups, and all stages of reproductive life. This would include the peri-partum period (ante-partum, intra-partum, and post-partum). Additionally, the employee should be skilled in all age specific gynecology care in both ambulatory and inpatient settings, both medical and surgical care. Incumbent will be expected to pass on his/her knowledge to learners, including students and residents, who may be assigned to the employee occasionally. Renown Health and Division or Section Chief will attempt to identify and maximally utilize those skills in which the employee has demonstrated certain interest or expertise.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  1. Ability to function effectively in an integrated delivery system.
  2. Knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulatory rules;
  3. Capable of operating business units in conformance with good quality and business practices as may be outlined by agencies such as JCAHO, NCQA, MGMA, etc.
  4. Effective leadership skills (and leading by example);
  5. Ability to obtain results with minimal disruption while involving a variety of internal and external groups.
  6. Ability to work independently.

This position does provide patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education:

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.

Experience:

Prior experience in referenced specialty, preferred.

License(s):

Must possess and maintain a current and valid State of Nevada Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic (DO) medicine license. Controlled substance License to Prescribe issued by the State of Nevada and Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the DEA, required.

Certification(s):

Board-Eligible or Board-Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). If Provider is Board Eligible at time of hire, Board Certification must be obtained within two (2) years of employment.

Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Certification Life Support (ACLS) required. Prefer American Heart Association (AHA) approved certification, but will accept online certification from American Red Cross Training Services, Advanced Medical Certification, or ACLS Certification Institute.

Computer / Typing:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

Ability to credential through Renown's Medical Staff and/or payor credentialing, as applicable.
