Medical Oncology - Physician Assistant | Attractive Compensation + Benefits Package

Job Highlights
The Oncology Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive care to patients with hematologic and solid-tumor malignancies, as well as benign hematologic conditions, across the continuum of care, from diagnosis through treatment and survivorship. In this role, you will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team including oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver evidence-based, high-quality care.
Position Responsibilities
- Diagnose, evaluate, and manage a variety of oncologic and hematologic conditions
- Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the cancer center physician team
- Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory studies, diagnostic imaging, and other tests
- Prescribe medications, chemotherapy, supportive care, and other treatments
- Monitor patients for treatment response, adverse effects, and disease progression
- Provide symptom management and supportive care, including pain management and palliative care when appropriate
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, side effect management, and survivorship planning.
- Coordinate care with specialists, infusion services, radiation oncology, surgery, social work, nutrition, and other interdisciplinary team members
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, tumor boards, clinical protocols, and evidence-based practice projects.
- Document patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic medical record (EMR).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Minimum of 2 years of oncology experience preferred
- Familiarity with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and clinical practice guidelines
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Active and unrestricted PA license in NJ
- DEA & NJ Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) license
- BLS certification
