Orthopedic Surgeon – Sports Medicine

Position Details:

• Schedule:
  • 2 clinic days per week (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 1-hour lunch)
  • 2 OR days per week (starting at 7:30 AM)
  • Current OR days: Mondays & Fridays (flexible for the right candidate)
• Patient Volume:
  • Clinic: 25–30 patients/day
  • Surgical cases: ~8–10 per week
• Assignment Length: 6 months

Call Requirements:

• Weekend Call: 1 in 7 weekends
  • Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM
• Weeknight Call:
  • Shared among 7 surgeons
  • Some weeks no call; others 1 night/week
  • Includes ER phone consults and inpatient rounding

Case Mix:

• Bread-and-butter Sports Medicine cases including:
• ACL, MCL, PCL reconstructions
• Meniscus procedures
• Knee and ligament repairs
• Hip arthroscopy experience preferred

Requirements:

• Board Certified/Board Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon
• Sports Medicine Fellowship required
• Active Illinois license or IMLC eligibility
• DEA required
