Orthopedic Spine Physician Assistant- Coastal Opportunity at McLeod Health Seacoast

McLeod Health seeks to hire an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to establish and grow our Orthopedic Spine program on the coast in North Myrtle Beach, SC at the McLeod Seacoast Campus.

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide comprehensive care for spine patients, including evaluation of axial and radicular spine conditions, conservative management, and postoperative care
• Work closely with supervising physician in Orthopedics/Orthopedic Spine Surgery, supporting a high-volume spine practice
• Collaborate within a robust orthopedic group composed of 22 providers (physicians and APPs) supported by strong ancillary staff
• Maintain a consistent schedule:
  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Manage a patient mix of 90% outpatient spine care and 10% OR support
• Provide care to approximately 15–25 spine patients daily
• Participate in a structured onboarding process including shadowing, EPIC training, imaging review, and spine-care pathways
• Contribute to the APP pooled call model as needed

Qualifications:

• Preferred but not required: Experience as a Physician Assistant, ideally with orthopedic or neurosurgical spine background
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining compassionate, patient-centered care
• Strong proficiency in interpreting spine imaging, managing postoperative pathways, and performing urgent spine assessments
• Excellent communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
• Commitment to optimizing clinic efficiency and improving patient access
