Job Summary
Norton Children’s Emergency Medicine, affiliated with the University of Louisville School of Medicine, is seeking board-certified/board-eligible Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians to join a dynamic, interdisciplinary team recognized as leaders locally and nationally.
This group provides care across three pediatric emergency department locations in the Louisville metropolitan area, including Norton Children’s Hospital, a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center. The team delivers high-quality care for approximately 100,000 annual pediatric emergency visits, including patients transported via the “Just for Kids” critical care transport team with ground and helicopter capabilities.
An academic appointment is available, offering a balance of clinical care, education, and research.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency care to pediatric patients across multiple emergency department sites
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute illnesses and injuries in a high-volume, high-acuity environment
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, including 24/7 point-of-care and advanced imaging ultrasound
- Supervise and work alongside pediatric acute care nurse practitioners and physician assistants
- Participate in academic responsibilities, including teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based clinical practice
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited institution
- Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Emergency Medicine
- Eligible for medical licensure in Kentucky
- Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
- Interest in academic medicine, education, and/or research preferred

Compensation & Incentives
