The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine seeks a full-time Newborn Hospitalist to join our division.

The successful applicant should have a strong interest in clinical care, medical education, and quality improvement. They will join a collaborative team of pediatric hospitalists committed to advancing evidence-based newborn care, improving outcomes for newborns and their families, and educating the next generation of pediatricians through faculty development, mentorship, and scholarly activity.

The Mother-Baby Units (MBU) at the Women's Hospital of Jackson Health System–Holtz Children's Hospital comprise a high-volume newborn service with more than 4,000 deliveries annually. The MBU includes two clinically equivalent well-baby units staffed by pediatric hospitalists, pediatric residents, medical students, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers, and lactation specialists. Holtz Children's Hospital serves a large and diverse newborn population and functions as a major referral center for South Florida. Faculty practice within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment that includes neonatology, obstetrics, maternal-fetal medicine, nursing, lactation services, social work, care coordination, and pediatric subspecialties, providing comprehensive care to newborns and their families.

Position Highlights

• Full-time faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, commensurate with experience

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
• Eligibility for unrestricted Florida medical licensure
• Must be eligible for academic faculty appointment at the University of Miami
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification or eligibility to obtain prior to employment
