MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital, a community teaching hospital in northern Baltimore, is seeking a Chair of the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation to lead and advance our comprehensive rehabilitation programs. The Chair of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) will provide strategic and operational oversight of all clinical rehabilitation services on the MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital (MGSH) campus, including acute inpatient rehabilitation, consultation services, and outpatient operations. Responsibilities include achievement of departmental financial and volume goals, leadership of quality and patient safety initiatives, and ensuring continued compliance with CARF and Joint Commission accreditation standards. The inpatient rehabilitation unit consists of 49 beds and serves a diverse patient population with complex rehabilitative needs. In addition, the Chair will serve as Associate Medical Director, Regional Physiatry – Baltimore Region. In this capacity, the physician will provide oversight and clinical leadership for outpatient and consult physiatrists and advanced practice providers (APPs) across the Baltimore region. The physician will maintain a 0.7 clinical FTE focused on the acute inpatient rehabilitation unit and will be paired with an experienced APP to support clinical care delivery.

Minimal Qualifications

Education

  • Graduation from an accredited school of medicine required

Experience

  • 3-5 years Practice experience required

Licenses and Certifications

  • MD - Physician - State Licensure License to practice medicine in the State of Maryland required
  • Board certification in primary care specialty preferred

This position has a hiring range of

USD $275,000.00 - USD $325,000.00 /Yr.

Compensation Details

$275-325k

The hiring range is the range MedStar Health, in good faith, believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future and actual compensation may vary from posting based on work experience, education and/or skill level, etc. Even within the range, the actual compensation will vary depending on the above factors as well as market/business considerations.
