Leadership: Fellowship Program Director for Interventional Psychiatry

Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix is currently seeking to appoint an academic Interventional Psychiatrist at the Associate Professor or Professor level to establish and lead an interventional psychiatry fellowship program as Program Director, within the Department of Psychiatry (University of Arizona). The successful candidate will have a strong track record of original scholarship, clinical excellence, and experience administering an interventional psychiatry service. Interventional modalities include ECT, TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), and ketamine infusion. This is an exceptional leadership opportunity to be a be fellowship director and build an interventional psychiatry fellowship program within the Department of Psychiatry in an actively growing and developing college.

Along with program development, the selected individual will have the opportunity to advance the clinical practice of interventional psychiatry patients within a richly diverse population. This position will entail significant academic and administrative responsibilities, including administering a clinical service, directing a fellowship program, teaching and supervising fellows, residents, and students. The successful candidate will divide their clinical and academic responsibilities within a dynamic and growing research-oriented department which has substantial NIH funding. Clinical services are provided at the Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix. An evidenced enthusiastic commitment to clinical and didactic teaching is desired.

The qualified candidate will receive a faculty appointment at the University of Arizona consistent with their credentials.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Psychiatry Certified by the ABPN
• 5+ years of experience as an Interventional Psychiatrist
• Fellowship-trained in Interventional Psychiatry
• Desire to pursue original scholarship and teaching in the field of interventional psychiatry
• A track record of peer-reviewed publications and external funding are preferred
• Demonstrated leadership skills and experience building a fellowship program are preferred
