Urology Physician—24-Hour Beeper Call in California’s East Bay

An adult-only hospital service in California’s East Bay is seeking Urology coverage for approximately 10–12 24-hour beeper call shifts per month. Physicians must be available for at least 5 days of coverage each month.

This is a consult-based assignment supported by hospitalist services and neighboring Urologists. Patients are admitted to the hospitalist service first, with Urology consulted as needed.

Schedule

• 24-hour beeper call
• Approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Minimum commitment of 5 days per month
• Flexible scheduling
• Ongoing need

Compensation

• $2,400–$2,600 per 24-hour shift guaranteed
• Additional hourly compensation for callbacks
• No gratis or unpaid callback hours
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice coverage available through Aya, when applicable

Clinical Details

• Adult patients only
• Approximately 1–6 consults per hospital per day
• Hospitalist service manages admissions
• Epic EMR
• Support from neighboring and sister-hospital Urologists
• Strong fit for physicians comfortable with 24-hour call and bread-and-butter Urology

Common consults and procedures include:

• Febrile stones
• Hydronephrosis and AKI
• Gross hematuria
• Ureteral stent placement
• Testicular torsion
• Clot evacuation
• ED consultations and outpatient follow-up recommendations

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology
• ABU or AOBS eligibility accepted
• Active California medical license
• California DEA with Schedule II authority
• California Fluoroscopy Certificate
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Prior experience taking 24-hour Urology call
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

East Bay, California, with convenient access to Oakland, San Francisco, Bay Area dining, entertainment, and outdoor recreation.
