The MaineHealth Cancer Care Network (MHCCN) is statewide, integrated care delivery network across the Southern, Coastal, and Mountain regions of Maine and eastern New Hampshire. Designed to provide care as close to home as possible, the network is comprised of 11 hospital partners and provides comprehensive cancer care to more than 7,400 analytic cancer patients annually.
The MaineHealth Cancer Care Network (MHCCN) is actively seeking to fill multiple Hematologist Oncologist opening across the network. Facility/Locations include:
- Maine Medical Partners, Portland, ME
- Maine Health Cancer Care (MHCC), Brunswick, ME
- Pen Bay Medical Center, Rockport, ME
- Western Maine Health, Norway, ME
- Memorial Hospital, North Conway, NH
- Waldo County General Hospital (WCGH), Belfast, ME
- Southern Maine Health Center (SMHC), Sanford, ME
What you can expect:
- Supported by on-site infusion center with dedicated pharmacists, nurse navigators, palliative care providers, social workers and other allied staff
- Inpatient care is provided predominantly by hospitalists at each location.
- Ability to provide comprehensive cancer care to a wide array of complex oncology and hematology patients close to home
- These are full-time positions defined as four days a week in the outpatient clinic setting and one day of administrative time. However, accommodations can be made for those seeking to scale down full practices and prefer part time work.
- Call rotations shared with MHCCN partners at Pen Bay Medical Center and Mid Coast Hospital, Brunswick, ME are approximately one week out of every 6.

- MHCCN’s comprehensive cancer care program is ASCO QOPI, COC, NAPBC and NAPRC accredited.
- Fully integrated surgical oncology, radiation oncology, palliative care, patient support/social worker, nutritionist service
- Robust research program through membership of the NCI’s Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP). Opportunities to be PI or sub-PI of clinical trials
- Faculty position of the Tufts University School of Medicine (TU). Participation in MaineHealth’s Hematology Oncology Fellowship Program
Experience:
- A degree in medicine from an accredited medical school
- Successful completion of Residency/Fellowship at an accredited program
- Board Certified or Board Eligible for Oncology or hematology and oncology
- New graduates and those early in their careers are especially encouraged to apply
- International graduates in need of J-1 waiver are encouraged to apply
