Locum Tenens Hematology/Oncology Physician - $450.00/hr to $500.00/hr

We are seeking a Hematology/Oncology physician for a long-term locum tenens opportunity in a well-supported community cancer program. This is a primarily outpatient role with light inpatient consult responsibilities and a collaborative care team.

Schedule & Call

• Clinic Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Coverage Needs: Full-time preferred (minimum 3 days/week accepted)
• Call Schedule:
• 1 week per month
• Includes weekend + night call
• Call type: Inpatient + phone
• Volume: 0–2 calls per day (typically ED or hospital consults)

Practice Setting

• Outpatient clinic with inpatient consult support
• No daily rounding required; consults handled before/after clinic as needed
• Average rounding time: 1–2 hours/day (as needed)

Patient Volume & Workflow

• Average Patients/Day: 15
• New Patients: ~2/day
• Case Mix:
• ~2/3 Oncology
• ~1/3 Hematology

Clinical Scope

• Common cases: lung, breast, prostate, colorectal cancers + community-based variety
• Some complex blood cancers referred out
• No inpatient chemotherapy required
• Coordination with radiation oncology (navigator support provided)

Infusion & Procedures

• On-site infusion services include:
• Chemotherapy & immunotherapy
• IVIG, IV iron, injections
• Hospital infusion centers support labs, transfusions, and injections
• No bone marrow biopsies or lumbar punctures required
• RN support for port access

Requirements

• Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology (double-boarded preferred)
• Fellowship required
• PA license preferred (IMLC or willing to license considered)
