Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution, and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Transplant Hepatologist in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Digestive Diseases and Nutrition, Section of Hepatology.

The selected individual will join a section of eight clinical faculty to cover outpatient and inpatient needs for the Transplant Service Line, while collaborating closely with Dr. Steven Flamm, Clinical Director of Network Development and Outreach for the Transplant Service Line and Director of Research in the Section of Hepatology, at the Rush downtown campus and the seven liver transplant outreach sites where you will assist in building strong referring relationships for the Rush Solid Organ Transplant program.

Qualified candidates must possess a strong commitment to patient care, resident education, and research. Candidates must be board certified/eligible in both transplant hepatology as well as gastroenterology and be eligible for faculty appointment at the assistant professor level or above. Candidates should have experience in clinical hepatology and liver transplantation, along with a strong interest and successful track record in establishing referring provider relationships for liver transplant and have a deep desire and proven expertise in growth strategies for Liver Transplant programs. An interest or experience in alcohol use disease order is also a plus. Rush was one of the first ten liver transplant centers in the United States, starting in the 1980s. Nearly 2,000 patients have received a liver transplant during the program's 35-year history. Today, the program consists of a large multidisciplinary team which works closely together to maintain exceptional patient care and excellent quality outcomes. Rush is an equal opportunity employer.

Compensation Details

$336K–$511K

Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, specialty; relevant experience and training; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. Additional compensation may include premium pay rates, sign-on bonuses, and relocation allowances. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
