About BMC Brighton BMC Brighton is a leading regional center dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered orthopedic care. Our institution supports an active surgical service, a multidisciplinary staff, advanced imaging and OR technology, robust research infrastructure, and strong links to Boston Medical Center’s academic and teaching mission. We are expanding our Orthopedic Surgery Department and seeking a skilled Arthroplasty Surgeon to join our growing team.
Position Summary The Arthroplasty Surgeon will provide comprehensive care in primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, assume an active role in clinical decision-making, and contribute to the department’s mission of excellence in patient care, education, and research. The ideal candidate will be fellowship-trained in adult reconstruction and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical
- Perform primary and revision total hip and knee arthroplasty using contemporary techniques and evidence-based practices.
- Provide preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative patient management.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews, complex case management, and patient-centered care pathways.
- Share in orthopedic call responsibilities as assigned.
- Utilize and contribute to advanced technologies (robotic-assisted surgery, navigation systems, fast-track protocols—if applicable).
Teaching & Education
- Educate and mentor residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers.
- Participate in simulation training, academic conferences, and skill-development labs.
Research & Quality Improvement
- Engage in clinical research, outcomes studies, or innovation projects within arthroplasty.
- Participate in quality improvement, registry reporting, and evidence-based pathway development.
- Contribute to publications, presentations, or collaborative research initiatives (optional but encouraged).
Administrative & Leadership
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Participate in department meetings, committee work, and strategic planning.
- Foster a culture of safety, inclusivity, and high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
- Completion of an Orthopedic Surgery residency from an accredited program.
- Fellowship training in Adult Reconstruction / Arthroplasty required.
- Board certified or board eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Current or eligible for Massachusetts medical license.
- Commitment to clinical excellence, collaboration, patient safety, and continuous improvement.
