The Palliative Care division is looking for a dedicated Palliative Physician to join the team. The physician will provide inpatient Palliative Care services at our Inova Fairfax location. Inova Palliative Care is growing our team at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus to best care for the health care needs of the growing population. Sign on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

Program Features:

The Palliative Medicine & Comprehensive Care program at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus consists of an interdisciplinary team of 5 physicians, 2 advance practice providers, 2 social workers, a palliative RN, a hospice coordinator, and a chaplain. Our comprehensive, expert team provides specialty consultation throughout the 923- bed hospital campus with a strong focus on both advanced symptom management and serious illness communication. We are seeking a full time Hospice and Palliative Medicine board certified physician to join our team in a leadership role. This position will provide clinical expertise and mentorship within our team, grow collaborative relationships across the campus, and ensure optimization of team processes. We are looking for a leader who desires to foster growth and support the unique professional development needs of each team member. This leader will join the palliative medical directors of the Inova eastern and western region hospitals to work with the system chief on continuous quality improvement.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Doctor of Medicine degree or Doctor of Osteopathic degree from an accredited institution, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
  • Experience: Successful completion of an ACGME physician residency program, Fellowship completion in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
  • Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia 
  • Credentialing: Ability to be credentialed by the Inova Health System as an associate member of the Medical Staff with clinical privileges in Internal Medicine
