Position Overview
St. Michael’s Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Hospitalist Physician to join our growing inpatient medicine team in Newark, New Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a community-focused teaching hospital that provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to a diverse population while working alongside experienced physicians and multidisciplinary teams.

- Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for hospitalized adult patients.
- Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and discharge patients in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, consultants, and referring physicians.
- Participate in departmental meetings, peer review activities, and hospital committees as appropriate.
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Eligible for an unrestricted New Jersey medical license.
- DEA certification required prior to employment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality patient care and teamwork.

St. Michael's Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that provides employees the flexibility to tailor benefits according to their individual needs. Our Total Rewards package includes, but is not limited to, paid time off, a 401K retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and many more voluntary benefit options. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $250,000to $300,000 The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
