Duke University Health System seeks a Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to provide direct patient care services and perform medical procedures under the supervision of a supervisory physician to infants (birth through 2 years of age) in Intensive Care Nurseries, Intermediate Care Nurseries, and the Special Care Nurseries in the Duke University Health System.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Neonatal APP performs physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, and provides direct patient care services.
- The NNP contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, and provides leadership in the organization.
Schedule
Primary hours will be rotational, covering 24 hours/7 days per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The Neonatal APP must be flexible to provide on-call coverage as needed.
Education and Experience
Graduate of an accredited MSN or DNP Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Program. Or, Graduate of an accredited Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree Physician Assistant Program plus a Neonatal APP Fellowship. We seek NPP with 3 years RN experience as a neonatal nurse, 1-year NNP experience preferred. Or, PA with 1 year PA experience through neonatal fellowship or as a neonatal provider.
This position is eligible for a $10,000 Commitment bonus and relocation assistance is also available.
