Responsibilities

1. Direct the activities of medical and other personnel engaged in rendering medical or surgical treatments to patients.
2. Examine patients to provide information on medical condition and surgical risk.
3. Follow established surgical techniques during the operation consistent with the accepted standards of care.
4. Contribute to the planning, coordination and compliance with hospital policies and departmental policies.
5. Participate in surgical residency education.
6. Provide consultative and advisory services to clinicians as requested.
7. Maintain necessary and appropriate documentation for all services provided in compliance with regulatory and hospital policies.
8. Provide on call and/or clinic coverage as requested by Chairperson of the Department of Surgery.
9. Participate in scholarly activity and research.
   1. Perform other duties as assigned.
