  • Job Summary:

    We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Psychiatric Urgent Care (PUC) team. In this role, you will provide timely, high-quality mental and behavioral health care to children and adolescents in urgent-care, ambulatory, and consult settings. You’ll assess, stabilize, and help coordinate ongoing care for patients and families in a mission-driven pediatric environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate patients in urgent psychiatric or behavioral health crisis; take histories, perform assessments, and order/interpret diagnostic work as needed
    • Develop treatment plans, prescribe medications when indicated, and establish safety and care plans with patients/families
    • Provide crisis stabilization, short-term interventions, referrals, and follow-up recommendations
    • Manage care across settings — ambulatory PUC clinic (in-person and virtual), and as needed in emergency department or inpatient consult services
    • Facilitate case management and coordinate with community and hospital-based providers for continuity of care
    • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other members of the mental health care team
    • Document patient encounters and care plans accurately and timely in the medical record
    • Participate in quality improvement, program development, and educational or research initiatives

    Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree from an accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program, or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
    • Active, unrestricted Washington State license (ARNP or PA-C), national NP or PA certification, and DEA certification (or eligibility)
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or Pediatric Advanced Life Support, as required)
    • Minimum of one year clinical experience in a pediatric or family-focused care setting; previous mental-health or pediatric urgent-care experience strongly preferred
    • Strong clinical judgment, crisis-management skills, teamwork, and excellent communication

    Work Environment & Schedule:

    • Pediatric-focused psychiatric urgent-care clinic, with potential coverage in ED or inpatient consults as needed
    • Mix of in-person and telehealth visits, with flexibility depending on department needs
    • Fast-paced, varied caseload (urgent behavioral health, consults, follow-up), requiring adaptability and strong organizational skills
    • Opportunities for involvement in quality improvement, program development, and interdisciplinary collaboration

    Compensation:

    • Annual Salary Range: $86,700 – $127,500 (full-time equivalent)
    • Eligible for benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and more
    • Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates
    • This position is currently eligible for an off-shift premium of up to 7.5% which would increase the total compensation of this role by an additional $6,500 to $9,559 per year.

    Compensation Details

    $54-66/hour

    This position is currently eligible for an off-shift premium of up to 7.5% which would increase the total compensation of this role by an additional $6,500 to $9,559 per year.
