Academic Radiology in Texas | Body, MSK, or Emergency Radiology
Protected academic time | No overnight call | J-1 and H-1B sponsorship available
An expanding academic radiology department at a university medical center in Texas is seeking fellowship-trained Radiologists in Body Imaging, Musculoskeletal (MSK), or Emergency Radiology. The department is in a period of significant institutional growth, and this role is ideal for clinicians who want to advance an academic career, mentor residents, and contribute to a growing clinical footprint while maintaining an exceptional quality of life.
The Position
- Subspecialized practice: About 80% of your clinical workflow is in your subspecialty. Institutional volume has grown 30%, driven by a brand-new, state-of-the-art cancer center and newly built emergency care facilities, providing a rich and diverse case mix.
- Protected academic time: A built-in 0.5 day per week for lecturing, case conferences, and resident mentorship, with additional protected research time and resources available for those interested in scholarly activity or grant funding.
- Sustainable schedule: Standard 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. hours, with external teleradiology covering all overnight reads, so there are no mandatory late-night shifts.
- Productivity model: 0.9 FTE base tier with a 10,000 RVU annual baseline, leaving ample time for teaching at the workstation. Optional weekend shifts are available at a premium flat hourly rate.
Candidate Requirements
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Diagnostic Radiology
- Fellowship-trained in Body Imaging, Musculoskeletal (MSK), or Emergency Radiology
- Interested in or experienced with graduate medical education, resident lecturing, and clinical mentorship
- Current fellows, early-career graduates, and future fellows (including 2027 and 2028 cohorts) welcome
- J-1 and H-1B visa sponsorship available, and international graduates with an academic focus are encouraged to apply
