The Methodist Transplant Institute in San Antonio, Texas, is seeking a Board‑Certified Transplant Surgeon with expertise in liver and kidney transplantation to join a nationally recognized, high‑volume transplant program. This is an exceptional opportunity to practice within a dynamic, fully integrated health system known for outstanding outcomes and surgical excellence.
- Perform deceased donor liver and kidney transplants
- Expertise required in liver transplantation and laparoscopic donor nephrectomy
- Join a collaborative, multidisciplinary transplant team (surgery, nephrology, hepatology, nursing, administration)
- Work within a consensus‑driven group with low resident involvement
- Board certified in Surgery + ASTS‑accredited abdominal transplant fellowship required
- Eligible for Texas medical license
- Experienced surgeons preferred; new graduates considered
- Located at Methodist Specialty & Transplant Hospital, a 250‑bed facility dedicated to transplant care
- 350+ kidney transplants annually—among the highest volumes in the U.S.
- 1,000+ liver transplants performed since 2001; ~65 per year
- Largest live donor kidney and kidney paired exchange programs in the nation
