Position Details

• 5 provider group: 3 surgeons/2 experienced APPs
• Ambulatory practice less than 1 mile from hospital campus
• Intensivist staffed ICU
• Wound care in clinic
• Average patient per clinic day 15-20
• 3 Locations: UP Health-Bell, UP Health Marquette, UP Surgery Center
  • DaVinci XI up to 4 days per month
• Call/Trauma Call: 1:5
  • Locum support to ensure life-balance.
  • Split day/night 7a-5p and 5p-7a
  • APP covers all inpatient rounding.
    • Some OR assists

Office Practice:

• 8a-5p Mon-Thur. 8a-2p Fri.
• Staffed with an on-site manager, nurses, office clerks, scheduler.
• Patients booked 15/30/60-minute increments.
• Common procedures: excision of skin lesions, I&D of abscesses  or seromas, anoscopy & hemorrhoid banding

Preferred OR procedures: Open, laparoscopic & robotic surgeries: hernia repairs including inguinal, umbilical, incisional, ventral & hiatal, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colectomy, colostomy & ileostomy creation/takedown, breast biopsy, mastectomy, lymph node biopsies, excision of subcutaneous & intramuscular tumors, PED tube, tracheostomy, chest tube insertion, burn & would treatment, skin grafting, amputation, pilonidal cystectomy, exploratory, laparotomy, partial gastrectomy, hemorrhoidectomy & endoscopy.
