The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) residency program of the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University is one of the leading training programs in PM&R in the nation and offers an ACGME- -accredited four-year categorical program and a three-year advanced program. The primary clinical training site is the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (the former Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago), which allows our residents to receive diverse exposure to patients with disabilities and complex medical conditions. The residency program offers many formal educational opportunities including lectures, case conferences, Chairman’s Rounds, cadaveric dissections, simulation-based training, Grand Rounds, and hands-on workshops in physical examination, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and procedures.
