Mayo Clinic Florida is located in Jacksonville, Florida, a beautiful coastal city that features excellent year-round climate, over 20 miles of beaches and outstanding outdoor recreational, cultural and family-oriented amenities. The “River City by the Sea” has an excellent school system, reasonable cost of living and a thriving business environment. Our program is ACGME accredited to fill three spots per cycle. The Mayo Clinic Model of Care is defined by high quality, compassionate healthcare delivered in multispecialty, academic institution. Mayo’s primary focus is meeting the needs of the patient and advancing the science of medicine through education and research. The Urology department’s vision is to provide the best Uro-surgical care in the Southeast. Our values are Teamwork, Respect, Innovation, Quality, and Scholarship. MCF residents are trained to lead their communities in surgical practice, quality and safety. Residents will become proficient in robotic, laparoscopic, endourologic, prosthetic and reconstructive surgeries. Our Board passage rate is 100%. One-third of graduates seek fellowship and careers in academic urology. Faculty sub-specialize in oncology, endourology, incontinence, men’s health, BPH, female pelvic surgery and pediatrics. Training is based on a mentorship model. Skill acquisition is individually paced and rewarded with early and sustained exposure in the operating rooms. Despite the adverse impact of Covid-19 on surgical practices around the country our 2019-2021 graduates fulfilled or exceeded case based minimums. Final case logs for the two Chief Residents graduating in June of 2021 were: 256/276 Laparoscopic/robotic surgeries and 469/552 general urology procedures. Our program is staffed by 10 adult urology faculty and 3 pediatric urology faculty. At Mayo Clinic, trainee wellness is our priority. The Office of Academic Support and Wellness provides resources to promote academic, emotional, social, financial, and physical well-being.
