As a residency under the University of Massachusetts Medical School, in collaboration with its clinical partner, UMass Memorial Health Care, the residency’s mission aligns with the missions of these institutions. The University of Massachusetts General Surgery Residency Program is committed to improving the health and well-being of diverse communities in Central Massachusetts and residents through culturally sensitive excellence in surgical education, health care delivery, and research. Through training that focuses on these pillars, partnered with high clinical volume, extending broadly across all specialties, our residents are trained to be competent and confident at graduation and future leaders in General Surgery.
