Ophthalmology Residency Program · Columbus, OH
The Ohio State University is the third-largest university in the country, with both a major health system and seven health sciences colleges located in close proximity on one campus. Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science residents have numerous clinical, surgical, research and teaching opportunities in the areas of corneal and external disease, glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery, pediatric ophthalmology and retina-vitreous, uveitis and tumors. The program offers strong didactics, modern facilities and equipment. Ohio State’s newly opened ophthalmic electrophysiology lab features the most advanced imaging technology available, including pattern electroretinogram for use in treating glaucoma diseases. Faculty at Ohio State cover all subspecialties at all residency clinic sites. The residency accepts six new residents each year for a three-year residency (plus a one-year joint internship).
