Internal Medicine Residency Program · New Haven, CT
The goal for training in the Yale Traditional Internal Medicine Residency is to provide each resident with a solid grounding in internal medicine in an environment that fosters intellectual curiosity and a spirit of inquiry. Upon this foundation we hope to support the ambitions of each resident, whether their career path includes investigation, clinical medicine, education, or a combination of all three. Our residents train in two major academic medical centers: Yale-New Haven Hospital and VA-Connecticut. Ambulatory training occurs in two Federally Qualified Health Centers and VA-Connecticut. Residents gain broad exposure to diverse patients coming from the New Haven Community and stretching to a catchment area that includes all of southern New England. Our graduates match into fellowships in all subspecialties of internal medicine and many pursue careers in hospital medicine and primary care. Our alumni have gone on to major leadership positions in academic centers around the United States.
