The primary goal of the Urology Program at The New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center is to provide superb training residents to enter either academic medicine or private practice, instill in them the principles needed to be excellent practicing urologists, and provide them with an educational foundation that prepares them for the changes in urologic practice that will occur in the future. There is an emphasis in the Program on academic urology, and our goal is to provide the residents with the background to obtain both clinical and research fellowships if desired. The Program is particularly attuned to innovations in urology and prepares the residents for emerging fields such as robotic-assisted or laparoscopic urologic surgery, reconstructive and minimally invasive techniques, intermediate therapies for benign prostatic hyperplasia, and multi-modal treatment of sexual dysfunction and infertility.
