The Residency Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai West, an academic affiliate of the Icahn School of Medicine, is a fully-accredited program that prepares residents to enter any subspecialty fellowship or practice as a generalist obstetrician-gynecologist. Since the mid-nineteenth century, Mount Sinai West (formerly Roosevelt Hospital) and Mount Sinai Morningside (formerly St. Luke’s Hospital) have a shared history of providing excellent health care to the diverse population of New York City. Our residency program’s mission is to train the next generation to thrive as clinicians, educators, researchers, and leaders in obstetrics and gynecology. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has 80 attending physicians in all major divisions, covering the depth and breadth of the specialty. Annually, we perform 5,000 deliveries, 2,300 gynecologic surgeries, 27,000 fetal evaluations, and 26,000 outpatient visits, ensuring our trainees a rigorous-yet-supportive educational environment by providing expertise, resources, and broad clinical experience.
