Neurology Residency Program · Ann Arbor, MI
The University of Michigan adult neurology program is a categorical program that recruits 9 candidates each year. The pre-neurology internship includes one month of neurology consults and one month of neuro-critical care. In June of the PGY1 year, all residents join us for a unique pre-neurology boot camp rotation. This non-clinical rotation primarily consists of interactive learning sessions focused on developing core neurology skills and knowledge to facilitate the transition to neurology clinical residency the following month. The PGY2-4 neurology curriculum is comprehensive and includes outpatient and subspecialty rotations early and often. Our weekly didactics are supplemented with a live patient conference and localization rounds. The Department of Neurology has a large faculty with diverse interests and expertise, and a departmental culture that places a high value on teaching and mentorship. The residency program is highly responsive to the changing environment of neurology education and the needs of the residents.
