OverviewThe Dermatology Residency at Mayo Clinic's campus in Rochester, Minnesota, offers a patient mix that provides experience with routine cases and unusual skin disorders, intensive didactic training, and a strong diagnostics program. At Mayo Clinic, we care for patients from all around the world, from local to international visitors. Our goal is to train a diverse group of future dermatologists that will be able to deliver compassionate and high-level care to all patients in their community and beyond. The institution and program value and demand an environment of mutual respect for all members of the health care team, patients, and visitors to Mayo Clinic. Residents are expected to participate in scholarly activity and may also participate in rotations at Mayo Clinic's campuses in Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona, or Jacksonville, Florida. Highlights of this program include: -The unique opportunity to manage patients with severe and complex dermatologic diseases in a hospital setting -Training in dermatologic surgery, dermatopathology, immunodermatology, inpatient and outpatient dermatology, pediatric dermatology, and clinical research -Rotations on an inpatient primary dermatology service -Clinical conferences, seminars, small discussion groups, journal clubs, and one-on-one instruction are all integral parts of the residency -Nearly limitless opportunities to participate in research and academic activities. The Department of Dermatology's large, international faculty has many unique research interests, including: *Complex medical disease *Cutaneous oncology *Lymphoma *Mucous membrane disease *Pediatric dermatology *Psoriasis *Transplant dermatology *Women's dermatology
