Spectrum Health/MSU/Helen Devos Children’s Hospital Pediatric Residency Program is located in the only free-standing children’s hospital in beautiful West Michigan. DeVos Children’s is ranked in 7 specialties in US News and World Report and the residency is a blend of exposure to community pediatrics and cutting edge subspecialty care. Board pass rate and satisfaction with the program remains exceptional. 50% of our residents specialize in a wide variety of fields. Primary care exposure includes a block of community/advocacy immersion, a global health/underserved track, resident-as-teacher block, and primary care exposure to a diverse group of patients including urban, suburban, rural, refugee, and immigrant patients. Residents have access to research opportunities including the unique quality improvement iHub, MSU CHM medical research center, and Van Andel Institute all located within the easily accessible “medical mile” surrounding DeVos Children’s hospital.
